Peace on Earth, good will toward men, and a partridge (preferably Susan Dey) in a pear tree.

Oh, yeah, and a few applicants with an IQ higher than a rutabaga.

That fewer trees may die at the hands of those who insist on paper!!

True story -- an old friend of mine was assigned the task of declassifying military documents, some of which reached back several decades. One file on an individual contained only the fact that this person was dead. Nothing else.No address, no service record -- just the fact of his death.

So Irv took the file to the unit chief and asked whether there was any reason at all the file couldn't be destroyed. The chief thought about it for a while and gave permission to destroy the file, but directed Irv to make three copies of it.

And when it is necessary to issue something on paper, people will actually read it!

I'm sorry is this sounds selfish-

I really want a good, new job this year.

One where I am allowed to be creative and appreciated for it.

That's all.

I'm going to echo Laurie. My wish is for a permanent job back in HR so that I can give up being night auditor at a hotel once and for all.

To be appreciated for who I am, and respected for what I know.

And a warmer office - I'm freezing in here!

Administrators who follow their own policies.

I'm exhausted never knowing if we're supposed to be going "by the book" or doing what "she" says to do. Seems to depend on who's watching. It's too much for me to keep up with.

To retire to the Caribbean and tell the corporate world to kiss my poodle's furry little butt!

{poof! that only lasted a fraction of a second!}

Ok.. this is a stretch but I'm counting on the Genie...(you'll see that I've had "union" day today!)

My wish is that the union, the company, and the covered employees will abide by the P.O.S. CBA that they agreed on. I want them to stop making exceptions then come back when the situation happens again and say "it's past practice."

I would like the covered employees as well as the business agents to READ the contract and quit saying "well the contract says...." when it doesn't say that AT ALL.

And, finally, I want the union local's office manager who makes 20k a year more than I do (per unionfacts.com) to quit calling me with questions about how THEIR dues are supposed to calculate for certain job classes. Or, I'd like to be paid a consulting fee.

That is all.

My HR wish is that just once an employee who is being completely unreasonable about something would respond with, "You're right. I'm being completely unreasonable."

I wish employees would stop calling me and asking when they will get their W-2!

And in April I'm going to wish employees would stop calling me and asking for reprints of their W-2!

Issue a notice that W2's will be issued on Jan 31. Then if you issue them earlier you're a hero!
